When I was in Great-Britain last summer, I decided to go to a football match between Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday. It turned out to be one of the highlights of my holiday.
It all started with a spectacular opening ceremony three hours before the actual match. After that, the members of both teams were introduced to the audience. Sheffield Wednesday scored first but Manchester United eventually won.
What I found really amazing was the behaviour of the fans. They were not angry with each other and looked as if they were having a great time together. The match started and ended with fireworks – it was a big display of artistic creativity and technical skills. I particularly liked the shapes and colours.
Despite being very crowded, the stadium was very well organized. For example, there were information desks every fifty metres. If there were any problems, organizers were quick to intervene.
All in all, the atmosphere before the match as well as after it was very friendly. I have never seen such an interesting event before.
