Advantages and disadvantages of having a car

 

Nowadays, since roads are more and more crowded, people consider both the advantages and disadvantages of having a car before they buy one.

 

The most important advantage is that it gives you the freedom to travel when and where you want, without having to check fixed routes and timetables. In addition, you can take some passengers with you, and as much luggage as you want. What is more, you can travel comfortably in a car, you can have a music system or an air conditioner as well.

 

On the other hand, it is expensive to own a car. You must consider the price of the car, as well as the additional costs of tax, insurance, petrol and repairs. Moreover, people spend more and more time on the roads, stuck in traffic jams in the rush hours. The biggest disadvantage, however, is the damage that cars do to humans and the environment.

 

To sum up, if you have access to an efficient public transport system, then buying and running your own car is something like a costly luxury.
