Baráti levél esetén írjuk címünket a levél jobb felső sarkába, de a nevünk ne kerüljön ide. Az alá írjuk a dátumot. A címzett címét ne írjuk a levélre. Csak keresztnevet használjunk, írhatunk a levélbe rövidebb mondatokat is, használhatunk összevont alakokat, rövidítéseket, hétköznapi fordulatokat. Csak a keresztnevünket írjuk alá. Elbúcsúzáskor használhatjuk a Yours, Love, Best wishes kifejezéseket.

Dear Pat,

 

I am sorry I haven’t written to you for ages, but I’ve been extremely busy recently.

We have just moved in our brand new house, so we’ve been working a lot, I hope you’ll see the result very soon.

 

How are you? Have you passed all your exams? I’m sure you studied hard, day and night.

 

There’s not much news in school, or let me think: we have a new classmate, Peter, he’s so clever and he’s good-looking, too. It would be great if we could go to the cinema once after school.

 

I’m planning to give a house warming party this weekend, I guess you’re free then, ’cause it will be the biggest event of the year! I’m going to look after the food (it’s very special, can’t tell you yet), and guests are bringing the drinks, you can bring what you really like.

 

I really hope, you can come and then we could talk a little about everything. Write back to me or ring me asap, so I can prepare enough food.

 

Give my love to your brother.
